Jazzie B is nothing if not innovative.

His ability to take an idea that seems outrageous and convince you that it’s genius has served him well in his long and distinguished career.

And his latest project has to be up there with the most insane yet brilliant ideas ever thought up by a dance music aficionado.

While festivals, those that are still on anyway, will pump sounds into the country air much to the annoyance of the old biddies who live in the surrounding villages, Mr Soul II Soul has come up with the novel idea of a noiseless rave in Trafalgar Square this Sunday, according to CMU Daily.

Yes a noiseless rave. Impossible? Not quite.

While in theory the idea sounds ridiculous listening to the man explain it himself makes it seem like a great idea.

Jazzie, who was recently given an OBE, will broadcast the show via BBC London 94.9 and all ravers have to do is turn up, tune in and listen on headphones so that passers-by won’t be disturbed by any noise but will be treated to a bunch of people boppin’ away for no apparent reason.

"This should be such a cool event - people shimmying away while passers-by look on, agog. Maybe some of the onlookers will get involved - sharing headphones to enjoy the vibe is what I’d like this event to be about," he told the website.

Genius or insanity? You decide.
