Big air in Hyde Park
We were ‘busy’ hanging out at the Monster Energy Drink vert ramp yesterday at London’s 02 Wireless festival.

It was all skate and BMX guys flying through the air while the likes of Hot Chip and Jay Z did their thing on the main stage, visable directly through the arc of the ramp - nice.

The legendary PLG (representing Skate) has come all the way from USA to fling himself around for your viewing pleasure all weekend alongside Brit hero Pete King, with the BMX action coming courtesy of UK champ Jamie Bestwick and seasoned pro Jimmy Walker.

The Monster area proved to be a rather good hangout, particularly when the heavens opened and royally dumped down, as the ramp-side bar has a handy roof. It managed to be sunny again by the end of the day for us to emerge and go seeking some musical entertainment from Hercules & Love Affair. Fully charged with a little too much energy drink, we then bounced around to Jay Z until way after dark. The pictures are already on Facebook and are suitably embarassing.

Check out the Monster area if you’re lucky enough to be going to see Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5 and Underworld on Saturday. It’s very cool and the drink certainly has the properties required for a festival marathon, even if this one is in the middle of London and ends at 10.30. With Wild in the Country now cancelled, remaining tickets are going to be snapped up fast anyway…
