Glasto ain’t representin’

With Jay Z’s presence at Glastonbury ruffling a few rock ‘n’ roll and folk feathers, Dizzee Rascal has risked the ire of said group by claiming Glastonbury should get with the times and pencil in more ‘urban’ acts.
The Boy in Da Corner reckons the Jigga man’s set should be the beginning of a new era in the festival’s somewhat predictable mantra and to get on board with where music is going.
Speaking to the BBC, the rascal claims more commercial-friendly artists such Eminem or Kanye West would have been softer on the Glastonbury palate but he thinks it’s time to break down the walls of tradition which blight the festival, or support it, depending on how you look at the situation.
"I think hip-hop’s been dominating the charts for the past five years now - it’s just been on top - and maybe it’s got to the point where you can’t ignore that anymore," he said.
According to Bow’s finest, Estelle and Bashy being on the line-up is simply the organisers dipping their toe in the urban water.
"It’s just not realistic of what’s going on because urban music is the dominant music full stop," he told the Beeb.
