Glasto here we go

With all the hoo-ha surrounding Jay-Z ’s appearance as the headline act at that annual mud-fest we call Glastonbury anybody could be forgiven for thinking it’s not worth turning up.
However, whether Jay-Z gets booed by the traditionally indie-loving crowd is not the concern of dance-heads because the people who lined up the acts for the Dance Village definitely knew what they were doing.
Glasto has the reputation as the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to summer weekend music extravaganzas, whether this is justified or not is up for debate but there will be fewer events thrown this summer that brings so many headline dance music acts to the same table.
Hercules and Love Affair, X-Press 2, Kosheen, UNKLE, the Plump DJs, Kraak and Smaak, Ebony Bones. Ring any bells?
Well, how about the Audio Bullys, Kissy Sell Out, Ladyhawke, Stanton Warriors and Atomic Hooligan?
The aforementioned artists read like something of a who’s who of electronic music and anyone who needed convincing about the breadth of the genre should spend the next three days in the Dance Village.
Organisers are expecting 100,000 revellers at the gig and if Jay-Z fails to get them going anyone of the above artists surely will.
