Techno summer selection

To save any aggro concerning the hot potato that is ‘the sounds of the summer’ the good bloggers at Test Industries have kindly broken down what techno-heads should have in their summer CD collection and what tunes DJs should be playing during the UK’s ten minutes of sunshine.
Marcel Dettmann’s ‘MDR04′ is the first tune mentioned and while many may dismiss it as a simplistic and steady offering they’d be wrong.
According to the site the German producer is charting new territory with the song’s “considered” tempo and percussive elements and moving away from the sound that was born in the dark clubs of Detroit in the 1980s
Hadron from Sleeparchive features bleak percussion coupled with tone-shifting bleeps, no melody but a hypnotic charm while I Can’t Fight The Feeling by Tobias offers “sun-kissed deep techno”, the blogger writes.
Meanwhile Tod Osborn’s Ruling EP has also tickled the fancy of those in the techno know with its blend of “breezy, infectious melodies” which serve up a feast for techno hungry ravers.
