You got ID?

Scheming youngsters trying to blag their way into Creamfields this year are in for a rude awakening when they get there.
Determined to rid the event of under-age revellers the organisers have made it compulsory that people wishing to buy booze or fags must prove how old they are before they’re allowed to.
So those heading to the Daresbury Estate in Halton on the August bank holiday better make sure they’ve read the rules or risk being told where to go.
The event coordinators have teamed up with Validate UK to offer proof of age cards for people over 18 as part of the Challenge 21 scheme which is designed to stamp out boozing by minors as well as alcohol-related crime.
People concerned about carrying their passports with them can sign up to the scheme and be presented with their very own form of ID which will be Creamfields friendly, those who don’t are in for a spot of bother.
James Barton, managing director of the event, told urbanplanet.co.uk: “By keeping the event strictly over 18s we are committed to helping create the best possible festival experience and looking after the safety of our audiences”.
