Pharell Williams loves dnb

Folks in Bristol give yourselves a big pat on the back - your club scene has been praised by someone who knows a thing or two about nightspots- the baby-faced beatmaster Pharrell Williams.
The man’s mug is almost as recognisable as his voice, having added his own twist to tunes from Snoop Dogg and Britney Spears, the 35-year-old has carved a reputation as one of the finest producers currently at work in the music industry.
As one half of the Neptunes and frontman of N*E*R*D, Pharrell has scooped three Grammys plus another seven awards since. The man’s credentials then are pretty solid.
So Bristolians can sit there with a sly smirk because the Viriginia Beach native recently told Shortlist magazine he loves mashing it up in the city and had a few kind words to say for drum n bass, something that is done better in Bristol than in most other places.
“It’s pretty much a tiny underground scene in the US, but I love a lot of British drum n bass. I went to a really wild club in Bristol a few months ago, and that was a crazy night. I can’t remember the name of the place, but it was great. I love Bristol,” he said.
N*E*R*D’s third album is out on June 14th, although you may have difficulty finding it in Bristol.
