Ivan Smagghe

French DJ and Black Strobe man Ivan Smagghe had to cancel a headline gig in New York at the weekend when he was rushed to hospital suffering from heart palpitations.

The electro DJ/producer had been feeling ill for a few days and was diagnosed with extreme fatigue and stress related illness. Future dates for his shows are unconfirmed until Ivan has had some time off to rest.

The demands of a heavy international touring DJ lifestyle have caught up with many of the scene’s top stars. Sander Kleinenberg was ordered to take a break from his grueling schedule a couple of years back, while Paolo Mojo ended up with a severe stomach illness almost certainly brought on as a result of the physical toll of his job.

Hopefully Smagghe will be able to make the same full recovery as Sander and Paolo did and be back entertaining crowds shortly after a period of rest and rejuvanation.
