Bjork and Tricky seems like a plausible collaboration - two dark, some would say depressing, artists making dark and…well, depressing music.

Dizzee Rascal and Lily Allen as well - two rude, go-against-the grain, young artists who make the soundtrack for the streets of London.

Basement Jaxx and Yoko Ono?

Some would say this is an unusual combination but not the ubiquitous vinyl masters themselves, after all they have made songs with Girls Just Wanna Have Fun redhead Cyndi Lauper, so anything’s possible.

In an interview with Mixmag, the pair reveal how the collaboration with John Lennon’s former squeeze came about and what exactly fans can expect from the union.

“I was reading about her and she seemed to be on the same tip. We met her manager in New York and he told us she hadn’t known of any new music since 1965 so he decided to giver her some education. And the first thing she stopped at was when she heard ‘Romeo’,” Felix told the magazine.

So there it is, the weirdest collaboration one could think of…but knowing Basement Jaxx, it’ll probably be a belter.
