James Ford and Jas Shaw, aka Simian Mobile Disco, have been having an affair with the turntables for quite a while.

The duo, who met at university, began knocking out tunes in the spare room of the student house they shared in the late 90s.

Their infectious hit “Believe” can be heard by button-bashing Xbox lovers the world over as the music boffins at EA Sports decided to stick it on the background of the Ronaldinho feature in their FIFA 08 game.

Formerly part of the indie outfit Simian, the pair revealed in an interview with Resident Advisor their love affair with the decks began while they were still part of the band.

“Jas and I had already started DJing while we were in the band…we really, really enjoyed it, and that was the main thing. Then when the band split up, we sort of carried on DJing,” Ford told the site.
