Goldfrapp - No rest for the wicked

Goldfrapp are not ones to rest on their laurels, nor are they the type to lap up the praise lavished on their last album Supernature.
Formed in 1999, Goldfrapp, led by the fiery blonde singer Alison, who made her entrance into the music world by singing for Orbital and trip-hop master Tricky, have won many plaudits for their slightly left-field sound and festival theatrics.
In an interview with Scotland on Sunday, the quirky pair revealed they never look back and revealed what makes them and their music stay fresh and funky, unique and ambiguous.
“For us, going to make music is like going to a dressing-up box. You can put anything on and that’s the point. As soon as you start going for the same costume, it’s not as fun,” Will Gregory, the other half of the pair, told the newspaper.
Alison, never one shy to speak her mind, had a cheeky jibe for her record company and scoffed at suggestions the group should take some time out after the success of Supernature.
“I think we’re on more of a mission than our record company sometimes,” she said.
After that declaration, Goldfrapp fans can look forward to hit after hit, with the next tune Caravan Girl due to be released on June 30th.
