An international media frenzy has kicked up today around Australian teenager Corey Delaney, who threw a house party that got seriously out of control. Clever use of social networking websites saw him attract around 500 revellers over to his parents place while they were out of town at the weekend.

The story follows similar incidents in the UK where web postings have lead to trashed houses, however this one in Melbourne seems to have out-sensationalised them all. Around £10,000 worth of damage to local gardens and property occurred when a drunken rampaging mob fought back 30 police officers (using a helicopter and dog squad!) with missiles that trashed police cars and wrecked the suburban neighbourhood.
