What a great weekend we had there too, full of lots of partying to some of the best soulful house from around the globe. It was also Tony Humphries 50th Birthday and he had one of the most incredible birthday cakes I have ever seen.

It was a black and gold Technics turntable and even had all the fine details on it. Never seen such a wicked cake in my life. We even got to try some and it was yummy!!

It was great celebrating his birthday as I don’t think many clubber’s get to celebrate a DJs birthday with him playing on the decks, and I don’t think many people get a birthday party quite like that.

Tony is a great guy and we had a fun time catching up with him. We also chatted to Norman Jay, Ananda Project, David Harness, Michelle Weeks, Jazzy B (Soul II Soul), Jamie Lewis and more……

One of the highlights for us was the Soul II Soul live performance. They had a massive band with all the singers including Caron Wheeler, who even sang to us. You will have to check the footage to see this!! I have to say it is the most friendly event in the calendar and we always feel so welcome there.

We also filmed a lot of Southport Weekender virgins who are definitely going back next year. Guess we will see you all there again!! If you have never been and soulful house is your thing, make sure you book yourself in for the next event! x
