As Christmas approaches the party season is now in full swing, meaning a sharp increase in drunken dancefloor/karaoke shame, photocopied bottoms and regrettable drunken snogs with co-workers.

But, whilst we might all be aware of the clichés, one thing that festive party-goers still don’t seem to be fully aware of is that driving while on drugs carries the same penalties as for drink driving.

That means a minimum one year driving ban, a fine of up to £5,000, potentially six months in jail and a criminal record. The FIT Test is a website that aims to show why you really shouldn’t get behind the wheel after taking drugs. It uses the ‘touch your nose’ roadside test (click the mouse on the goggle-eyed party casualty to ‘pass’) along with info on each of the main party drugs to make the point.

The police are carrying out real life roadside tests and will arrest you if you fail the FIT test. And seeing as the effects of some drugs, both illegal and prescription, can last for a few days, the message is clear: Drugs make you do stupid things. Make sure driving’s not one of them.

Take the FIT Test.
