Yes it has to be said that Ministry of Sound celebrated its ‘Not So Sweet Sixteenth’ birthday at the weekend in some style. And what a party it was - if you missed out on it then shame on you!! The team who work at the club pulled out all the stops for this. There was great decoration all over the venue, loads and loads of balloons were begging to be played with… and play we did.

My night kicked off in the Box with a stonking 5hr set from Dubfire. Wow, he just keep the room going and going and going and begging for more. I think he nearly brought everyone to their knees! Loads of hands in the air and enough dancing and kinetic energy to blow your mind. It was brilliant and I really stonked it out on the dancefloor with everyone else. Couldn’t help myself I’m afraid. He was fantastic.

Meanwhile in the Baby box Ibiza legend Alfredo was bringing us his wicked sounds and taking us on a journey through his record box – which I can tell you is not small. He still obviously needed to leave tons of records behind otherwise he would have had to have had a full plane flying from Ibiza with just his records! The man is a legend and we loved checking him out and chatting to him. He was really loving being in the BabyBox as he said he felt he was playing to his gorgeous daughter Lola.

The Bar was great fun and just kept up a really high energy and vibe. Ashley Beadle told me he had brought a selection of 16 years worth of tracks. He mentioned he was playing at Ministry on the first night it all started, so it really must be special being here 16 years later and loving it! He is super easy to chat to, what a great guy! We then had a fantastic moment where we got Mark Knight and Marc Hughes to interview each other. They have to be two of the funniest DJs around, it really was hilarious. I even managed to get Mark Knight to sing “happy birthday” to Ministry with after sucking on a helium baloon!! Very amusing. Get ready for the full MoSTV video, coming soon…

I think there could be a potential MoSTV programme starring those two. They are like a double act, they really know how to have a giggle. Thanks Mark and Marc, you rock boys! They both also played fantastic sets. Both of them play regularly at the club, so if you have never heard them play, you know what to do.

Then we finally got to chat to Grandmaster Flash. What a Legend. And I can tell you he got the entire Bar going ballistic. It was like watching a whole dancefloor in unison with the dancing. All arms were in the air and everyone jumping up and down together at the same time. Thank goodness the club walls and floors are used to it and built for this, otherwise I think the building would have collapsed. It was wall shaking stuff dancing in celebration of this amazing milestone of being around for 16 years. Congratulations to the good old Ministry of Sound, we love our nights out at the club and are looking forward to the next 16 years already.

To find out what is coming to the club in the next couple of weeks make sure you check out the club site, which has just had a facelift, and come join us for some amazing parties in the run up to Xmas including David Guetta at Subliminal and Sasha at the return of Renaissance. Huge!

Next up for me though will be the Home of La Troya night back at the club this Friday, which I can guarantee will be fantastic after the fun we had at their night in Ibiza.

Hope to see you there. V x
