Singers Wanted
Presumably tired of churning out Lily Allen clones on a weekly basis, MySpace has teamed up with a mysterious producer for a slightly more intriguing music project.
The “internationally respected producer” is running a competition to find undiscovered talent for an up and coming electronic album.
He’s looking to employ the talents of 1 male and 1 female singer-songwriter to form a vocal duo.
The catch is that the identity of the producer will remain shrouded in mystery until the competition winners are picked.
Which is all rather exciting, but we still want to know who it is. Utilizing our sharp detective skills (ok, reading skills) we have found out that whoever it is has claimed to have shifted 30 million records to date.
Which means those of you hoping for a minimal techno – X Factor hybrid revelation will probably be disappointed.
However, a cursory rifle through the friends section could provide a clue, with a certain ex Madonna and Blur producer buried beneath the likes of Kissy Sellout, Underworld and, curiously Ray LaMontagne.
But then again, we could be well off the mark. Unfortunately it looks like we’re doomed to speculate until the results are revealed.
