Ministry of Sound Worldwide Party Update
Summer’s pretty much over now and whilst we’re getting excited about all of our upcoming winter parties and the build-up to New Years Eve we’re missing the sunshine and the sensational residencies that made 2007 a summer to remember. So bare with us for just a minute whilst we get all nostalgic and reminisce about what we did this summer…
Ministry of Sound weekly residency @ Paradise Club, Mykonos 2007 saw our most successful season in Greece to date with a varied season of dance acts that made sure Paradise Club was always packed to the rafters. Ministry of Sound hosted every Friday night in July and August which saw the best in DJ talent grace the decks of the Paradise Club; Axwell, Christopher Lawrence, Dirty South, Francesca Farfa, Jon Carter, Martin Solveig, Sebastian Ingrosso, and TV Rock.
Ministry of Sound weekly residency @ Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas When the bright lights of Las Vegas came calling we knew the only thing to do was round up a collection of top DJ talent, jump on a plane and join in the fun. And aren’t we glad we did! With Donald Glaude, DJ Rap, Nathan Scott, Kaskade, Max Graham, Steve Porter and Mark Knight all getting involved the summer rolled on into one unbelievable, long party.
Ministry of Sound weekly residency @ Pacha, Barcelona Marc Hughes, Nick Bridges, Funkagenda and Vivie-Ann were among the DJs we jetted over to sunny Spain to represent Ministry of Sound at our weekly residency at Pacha, Barcelona. All went down a storm with the Spanish crowds, making this residency one we’ll be sure to repeat next year.
Ministry of Sound weekly residency @ Kadoc, Portugal The Algarve’s most prestigious club played host to a month of MoS residents in August with Marc Hughes, Jazzy M and Richard Dinsdale all taking to the decks and ensuring Portugal was treated to the ultimate Ministry of Sound experience.
Ministry of Sound monthly residency @ The Mix, Paris Our longest running residency is still our best! This summer saw The Mix packed out every month with guest appearances from John Carter, Justin Robertson and Annie Mac to name a few, continuing through the autumn and into 2008 Ministry of Sound @ The Mix can’t fail to get better and better.Ministry of Sound Brazil Summer Tour 2007 Milk & Sugar were on top form when Ministry of Sound hosted Bench Club in Brasilia, and they were joined by Jose Nunez for Mix Garden in Bela Horizonte making an already amazing line-up incredible. Then Mason, Dirty South and Outwork got together with Ultra Nate at Sao Paulo’s Planta Baixa for what was one of the most monumental Ministry of Sound parties ever – check out the MoSTV footage!
Ministry of Sound in Colombia @ Circus Club, Medellin & Cinema Club, Bogota Dipesh Parmar kept the clubs running way past closing time in Columbia at the beginning of September and by the sound of things he can’t wait to return. “The South American crowd are the most passionate I’ve ever played to. I love the way they are so responsive to the music!”
Sessions and Housexy @ Zurich Street Parade, Switzerland Digitaline, Dom Chung, and Rich Murray scooted over to Switzerland to make sure Sessions and Housexy weren’t forgotten about at the Zurich Street Parade. While Housexy took over Platines for the Saturday evening, Sessions went all out at Q Club on the Friday with Digitaline and Dom Chung packing the place right through til the early hours.
Sessions in Demark @ Renome, Copenhagen This summer saw three great Sessions shows in Copenhagen’s newest and best venue Renome. First up was man of the moment Fedde Le Grand who smashed it with their biggest crowd to date, followed by two excellent shows from Ministry of Sound boys Dom Chung and Dipesh Parmar who both rocked the crowd with their electronic house sounds to a packed venue leaving all the clubbers very happy indeed!
Housexy in USA & Canada @ Rumor, Boston & Crush Lounge, Vancouver Towards the end of the summer Housexy began its bid to conquer the US and Canada with two incredible album launch parties in Boston and Vancouver. Fresh out of the studio from mixing ‘Housexy – The Housewarming’, Rich Murray was straight over there to showcase Housexy’s signature blend of funky and electro house to our stateside counterparts and the reactions were amazing. Keep an eye out on Housexy.com for future US and Canada parties coming soon.
Housexy monthly residency @ Apartment, Swindon July saw Housexy kick off a monthly residency at Apartment in Swindon, Rich Murray and Jake Duval have already have already graced the decks there with Patrick Hagenaar and Shane Kehoe to follow in the next few months. This residency takes place on the first Saturday of every month and more details can be found on the Housexy website and www.theapartmentuk.com.
Housexy monthly residency @ Club 7, Bahrain Housexy’s monthly residency in Bahrain continued to go from strength to strength over the summer with Rich Murray, Shane Kehoe and Patrick Hagenaar all receiving rave reviews. The luxurious surroundings of this club suit Housexy perfectly and it’s quickly becoming our flagship event for the Middle East. Find out more about the nightlife in Bahrain at www.likwid.net.
Ministry of Sound Club Classics weekly residency @ Trilogy, Dubai Ministry of Sound Club Classics took over Saturday nights at Trilogy bringing world class acts such as Alex P, K Klass and Graeme Park to Dubai. With these parties proving to be Trilogy’s most successful residency ever Club Classics will be staying long after the summer is done and continuing to host Saturday’s at Trilogy into the winter.Ministry of Sound quarterly residency @ Noxx, Belgium Just sneaking in at the end of the summer season was the opening night of our new quarterly residency at Noxx, Alex Gaudino kicked off the move to this new super club setting a very high standard for future acts to follow. Ministry of Sound presents London Sessions bi-monthly residency @ Attica, Shanghai Our bi-monthly residency at Attica kicked off in July with Dom Chung taking London Sessions over to Shanghai. The upcoming October date with Ministry of Sound legend Jazzy M makes this a residency to watch in the run up to 2008.
Smoove weekly residency @ The Castle Club, Ayia Napa Ras Kwame and G Child spent the summer jetting over to Cyprus to represent Smoove in the original urban music holiday location, Ayia Napa. Every Thursday hundreds of sun-kissed clubbers flocked to the Castle Club making this their most successful residency of the summer, and with an amazing refurbishment scheduled for this winter we can only hope we’ll be returning bigger and better next year. All this alongside a massive Ministry of Sound tent at the Aarhus Festival in Denmark, some astounding parties at Pacha Buenos Aires, Housexy continuing its quarterly residency at Powerzone in Amsterdam and Ministry of Sound hosting some amazing events at Mecca in Prague has made us very busy little bees indeed! Now there’s just enough time to catch our breath before we get down to the serious business of planning our winter parties for you lucky, lucky clubbers…
